Academics
Our goal at CBS is to provide a thriving environment that is focused on developing the whole child—spiritually, physically and academically. Our staff is committed to creating a loving and nurturing classroom culture that honors high standards for behavior and achievement. With a curriculum marked by academic rigor and combined with Biblical integration, CBS provides a challenging Christian worldview environment for all students.
Pre-school
Pre-K classes are designed to enhance and develop young children so they are ready for Kindergarten. Hands on developmentally appropriate activities target all aspects of early childhood development, while emphasizing the love of Jesus Christ. K3 & K4 classes participate in weekly computer classes, Spanish and library.
Community Baptist Schools offers a delightful learning experience that is available half-day or full-day for 3 and 4 year old students. Our programs provide a nurturing environment that builds a solid foundation for years of learning.
The 3 and 4 year old day school programs follow the regular school year calendar. Students entering the 3 year old program may begin when they turn 3 years old but they must be potty trained.
Community Baptist Schools offers the half-day and full-day options as well as a three, four, or five day option for the convenience of parents.
Elementary Education
K5-6th grade student curriculum emphasizes the basics of reading and math augmented by science, handwriting, history, spelling and English. All subjects are taught so that every student develops a thorough Christian worldview. Our teachers care not only for their academic needs but also for their spiritual needs. Elementary students participate in weekly classes of computer, Spanish and physical education.
Secondary Education
The strong focus on academics and spirituality continues in grades 7-12. CBS offers a college preparatory diploma that prepares students academically and spiritually for life after high school. The strong Christian worldview continues to be emphasized in the middle and high school grades.
Students attend Bible class daily and participate in Chapel weekly. Opportunity for dual enrollment classes at Rockingham Community College is available for qualifying students in 11th and 12th grades.
CBS graduation requirements meet all standards for the state of North Carolina.
